Since spring 2000, the Stephen M. O'Grady Foundation has donated over $120,000 in scholarships and donations to local youth groups. We have awarded 119 scholarships to Salem Little League alumni totaling $92,500 and donated $25,800 to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem. We also support various other youth charities related to our mission.

Fundraising/Donations

The Stephen M. O'Grady Foundation is an all volunteer organization raising funding through events supported by community members and local businesses. Our primary sources of donations are:

SPRING DANCE: Each year prior to Salem Little League opening day, the foundation hosts a spring dance including music, dancing and raffles.

SUMMER GOLF TOURNAMENT: The Steve O'Grady Open is held each August at Olde Salem Greens golf course in Salem. This popular and fun tournament is widely supported by local companies, and includes raffles and silent auction items. Each year, the Stephen M. O'Grady Scholarships are awarded to local youth at the luncheon following this event.

STEVE'S TEAM: As an additional fundraiser, Stephen's sister Beth and friends completed 10 marathons in 7 years to commemorate Stephen's 10th anniversary. A total of $42,000 was raised between 2003-2009 to benefit the Stephen M. O'Grady Foundation and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem. This effort continued into 2010 with an additional $2,800 raised, for a total of $44,800.

The success of our foundation is determined by your participation in our events and support of our mission. Thank you for joining with us to honor Stephen's memory by supporting Salem's outstanding youth.
